    Syncro,
    When I was still using the stock injectors with the J&S v2 MAP limiter voltage adjusted to 3.04v, all tip-in problems were eliminated.
    I later upgraded the injectors to 290cc to lower the WOT fuel pressure and in the process of doing that, I had to lower to idle pressure as well to avoid rich idle. However, by lowering the idle pressure also caused a lazy response from my AEM fpr which gave me some partial throttle tip-in. I then installed the TPS mod to solve/bandage the partial tip-in problem. I think the J&S v2 and the TPS mod should work fine. However, for someone that doesn't have the J&S v2, the JR MAP converter might do the trick.

    TJ;

    Thanks...It sounds like I may have a redundant setup but it can't hurt. I am just happy there is no pinging!! The car just flies now...wish I had an LSD I'll see what happens when i advance the timing up from 10 degrees where it is now......

    The JR MAP limiter (as far as I know) does some manipulating of the MAP signal voltage. It must also limit the MAP voltage since you'd throw a CEL if it didn't.

    The MAP limiter in the J&S Ultra is an electronic check valve only. The MAP voltage from the MAP sensor gets passed through to the ECU "untouched" until you hit the "check point" that you set. Once you've reached that voltage, the J&S will allow the ECU to see only that voltage. The MAP voltage will rise as pressure in the manifold rises. Cars typically see 2.7 to 2.9 volts at WOT in NA form. The ECU will throw a code at anything above ~3.05 volts. That's why the limiter is necessary. With boost, the MAP voltage will be much larger than that.

    Hey Chuck, I think I'm going to bow out of the running for the injectors for now. I gotta get dyno tuned this weekend, and there goes my money.

    I am having the JR Map Converter installed tomorrow on my '99 GS-R. I had been having a lot of probs with detonation up until recently when I had a J&S Ultra v.2 installed (map sensor installed on the intake manifold)After a few days of playing around with the setting on the J&S I have it running better than it ever has with the blower. If I try really hard I can still get some tip-in detonation between 2,000 to 2,500 rpm. I am hoping that after the map converter is installed it will take care of that remaining detonation and maybe give me a bit more power.

    My question is this: Should the Map converter be installed on the map sensor inline before the J&S tube? I would think that the map converter should control things before the J&S. Let me know if this makes sense. I will list my mods below:

    p.s. the J&S is unbelievable!!

    '99 GS-R, DC 4-2-1 headers, Type R cat back exhaust, JRSC 6 psi, JR HO fuel pump, J&S Ultra Safeguard v.2, cold plugs, 94 octane

    Just curious, why would you need the JR MAP converter when you already have a J&S v2? What voltage did you set your J&S v2 MAP limiter to?
